Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin.Small inflammatory infiltrates near vessels were restricted to a few to a dozen lymphocyte-like elements. The infiltrates near veins were slightly more abundant, usually concentrated in one part of the vessel. In the walls of even very small arteries, vitreous lesions were present. Thrombi were formed in the arterioles. Loose lymphocytic infiltrates were found in the meninges. Altered vessels were observed more in the hemispheres, in the white matter, as compared to the stem and cerebellum. Besides, there were features of generalized edema and generalized neuronal ischemic changes throughout the brain. However, in the context of decaying features of the entire specimen, the evaluation of these types of lesions was difficult. The brain picture in combination with the clinical picture may correspond to the so-called influenza inflammation, or para-infectious inflammation.}, type={Text}, title={File of histopathological evaluation of nervous system diseases (1964) - nr 169/64}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/206376/PDF/169_64.pdf}, keywords={Viral inflammations}, }
