The author makes a distinction between its anaphoric(endophoric) and deictic (exophoric) uses. The author also distinguishes between two language units: ktośma kogoś/czegoś (genitive) potąd and the pronoun potąd, which replaces a locative expression. The first unitexpresses an excess of objects, causing a speaker’s dissatisfaction. This unit very often coexists with gestures,and the potąd segment is stressed in the phrase.
