In particular, the situation of the so-called odnodvortsy is described with the social and legal condition of this social group. The work was written in 1866, and it reflects the situation of the degraded nobility who after 1831 was ranked as the ‘owners of one homestead’. They had their own laws and duties that placed them between the dvorians and the peasantry. According to Dunin-Marcinkiewicz’s work, this social group was characterised by a very low legal culture. They were people fully subordinated to the Russian authority, thanks to the functioning of land courts, court pristavs, and local administration. The text emphasises the problem of the lack of any rules of law applied in judicial and police organs as well as widespread corruption.}, type={Text}, title={Rzeczywistość sądowo-prawna jednodworców w świetle dzieła Wincentego Dunin-Marcinkiewicza "Pińska szlachta"}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/153692/PDF/WA303_188034_A453-SzDR-55-2_Lopatecki.pdf}, volume={55}, number={2}, journal={Studia z Dziejów Rosji i Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej}, publisher={Instytut Historii PAN}, keywords={Dunin-Marcinkiewicz, Wincenty (1807-1884) - plots, themes, etc., Dunin-Marcinkiewicz, Wincenty (1807-1884) - criticism and interpretation, Dunin-Marcinkiewicz, Wincenty (1807-1884).
