 abstract={A 63-year-old patient with suspected mitochondrial disease was examined. A biopsy of quadricepssinister was performed.Muscle fibers with preserved myofibrils and normal sarcomere pattern were visible. Damage andabnormalities within the mitochondria (swelling, lack of mitochondrial cristae, light mitochondrialmatrix) were observed. This might be both a result of a mitochondrial defect or improper preparationof the biopsy material.},
