 abstract={A 62-year-old patient with suspected muscular dystrophy was examined.Electronmicroscopy analysisrevealed ultrastructurally changed myofibres. Mononuclear fibers withof small diameter with deposits of lipofuscin were observed.Damaged mitochondria were seen -they were characterized by bright mitochondrial matrix, blurredstructure of mitochondrial cristae and their partial or even total lack (Fig. 4,5,6,7,8).Peripheral glycogen was visible. On the cross-section of some of the fibres, myofibrillles arrangedcircumferentially, forming “ring binden” structures were observed.},
