 abstract={A 62-year-old patient with suspected mculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy was examined. A biceps biopsy was performed. We observed unchanged muscle fibers structure (Fig 1). In some fibers mitochondria were characterized by blurred structure of mitochondrial cristae or were devoid of cristae and had bright mitochondrial matrix. (Fig 2,3). Defect of mitochondrial enzymes is suspected.},
