The study analyses its origin, political and propaganda context, and compares it with Suski’s later memoirs from 1982. The 1940 report, prepared for the Polish authorities-in-exile, is of special value because it was drafted imme-diately after the events, providing unique insights into the actions of the civil and military authorities and into social mood. At the same time, it reflects Suski’s intention to defend the Polish position against German propaganda and therefore requires critical assessment.}, title={Wypadki w Bydgoszczy 3 września 1939 roku w relacji starosty Juliana Suskiego (1940)}, type={Text}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/262892/WA303_299963_A507-DN-R-58-1_Chincinski.pdf}, volume={58}, number={1}, journal={Dzieje Najnowsze : [kwartalnik poświęcony historii XX wieku]}, publisher={Instytut Historii Polskiej Akademii Nauk}, keywords={Suski, Julian (1896-1978), Bloody Sunday in Bydgoszcz, social attitudes and moods, ethnic conflict, minorities - Poland - 1900-1945, Germany (nation) - Poland - Bydgoszcz - 1900-1945, German minority, German sabotage}, }
