Wizja rozwoju, edited by M. Halamska, M. Kłodziński and M. Stanny. It is showed that “vision as a method” is a more useful than “utopia as a method” concept, developed recently in 2016 by M. Shucksmith in his article “Re-imaging the rural: From rural idyll to good countryside”. It is based, contrary to the “utopia as a method”, on the ideas of C.W. Mills’ “sociological imagination”, R.K. Merton’s perspective of “self-fulfilling prophecy” as well as K. Lewin’s “field theory”. Therefore the brief analysis of basic messages contained in the Polska wieś 2044. Wizja rozwoju book as founded on the idea of “sociological imagination” has been presented. Moreover, the argument that main messages from the book should be distributed among various social actors in order to put them on the path of “self-fulfilling prophecies” has been developed. Finally, the results of the deliberation, i.e. the possible reconciliation of positions might have been considered, according to the “field theory” message, as relatively stable solutions of analysed social problems.}, type={Text}, title={Vision as a Method?}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/248479/wir_2024_1_202_141_170.pdf}, keywords={utopia, vision, sociological imagination, self-fulfilling prophecy, deliberation}, }
