He was a student of Władysław Semkowicz. After completing his studies in law and history, he first worked as a secondary school teacher and then as director of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences’ office. He was not employed at the Department of Auxiliary Sciences of History at the Jagiellonian University until after the Second World War, when he succeeded Władysław Semkowicz. His scientific interests encompassed heraldry, sphragistics, and diplomatics. Although Mikucki’s academic output is modest in quantity, it is significant in quality. His high-quality works have set new research directions and continue to inspire scholars today.
