 abstract={An overview of certain properties of mutual rank probabilities in partially ordered sets (posets) together with some new theoretical and experimental results are given. In a first part, transitivity properties are studied. It is shown that the type of transitivity shown by mutual rank probabilities nicely fits into the cycle-transitivity framework tailor-made for expressing transitivity of reciprocal relations. In a second part, so-called linear extension majority cycles (LEM cycles) which can occur in posets with n 2: 9 elements are studied. Minimum cutting levels to avoid such LEM cycles are derived. In a last part approximation formulae for the mutual rank probabilities are established and their accuracy is compared for posets on up to 11 elements.},
