In 1998 the first mutation in MAPT gene was found, and over 40 mutationsare uncovered nowadays. MAPT gene mutations can be divided into two types. The first typecauses the change in biochemical properties of tau protein. The second one disruptsalternative splicing of exon 10. Alternative splicing of exon 10 produces 3R (without exon 10)and 4R (with exon 10) protein isoforms. In healthy brain the ratio of 3R and 4R forms isapproximately 1.}, type={Text}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/204479/PDF/POZN271_240912_doktorat-lisowiec.pdf}, }
