Arteriosclerosis cerebri. Autopsy examination was performed 96 hours after death. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained by Hematoxylin-eosin and Van Gieson's stain.In the right hemisphere, a focus of tissue disintegration involving almost all cortex and white matter of the occipital lobe. The focus in advanced stages of dissection or early mesodermal-glial organization. In the center, entire fields covered with giant mononuclear and multinuclear macrophages. Peripherally proliferating young vessels were visible. Nerve cells degenerated, revealed features of fatty and ischemic disorders. Multiplication of interlobular oligodendroglia in white matter. Blood vessels with atherosclerotic altered walls with predominantly vitreous changes. Meninges slightly thickened, single lymphocytes and macrophages with hemosiderin were seen around vessels filled with blood. .}, type={Text}, title={File of histopathological evaluation of nervous system diseases (1966) - nr 212/66}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/193507/PDF/212_66.pdf}, keywords={Vascular disaeses - encephalomacia, Vascular diseases - arteriosclerosis cerebri}, }
