Oedema hyperaemia et haemorrhagiae perivasculares in regione parietooccipitalis. Haemorrhagia subarachnoidealis. Arteriosclerosis.Autopsy examination of 64-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained by Hematoxylin-eosin, Cresyl violet and Van Gieson's stain.In the cerebellum, the edge of a hemorrhagic focus surrounded by a wide band of proliferating tissue with macrophages and activated vessels. In the parietal-occipital region features of maximal congestion and edema with transudation of fluid and blood morphotic elements were observed. Additionally, perivascular hemorrhages of various degrees, the largest around the posterior horn of the ventricle were visible. In this areas, features of tissue softening exceeding the area of extravasation, were found. Above the cerebral and cerebellar hemispheres, moderately extensive subarachnoid hemorrhage was noticed. Meningeal and interstitial vessels showed significant hypertrophy of the appendage and wall fibrosis (staining intensely red with van Gieson's method). Nerve cells in the cortex were generally quite well preserved. In the areas of the largest vascular lesions /meningeal hemorrhage, edema, extravasation in the parenchyma vacuolation and cell damage were visible.}, type={Text}, title={File of histopathological evaluation of nervous system diseases (1966) - nr 202/66}, URL={http://www.rcin.org.pl/Content/193505/PDF/202_66.pdf}, keywords={Vascular diseases- atherosclerosis, Haemorragia subarachnoidealis}, }
