From the history of archaeology we know that our discipline was first taught at the University in Lvov (Lwów), then at the University in Kraków and after the World War I the Department of Archaeology as a separate direction at the university have been established at the University in Warsaw (Warszawa) and in Poznań. Along with the increase of education and with the advent of many specializations within the humanisties alone, especially within the history but also within ethnology and cultural anthropology and established within the last decade new university courses such as: Ochrona Dóbr Kultury (Cultural Heritage); Muzealnictwo (Museums Studies); Krajoznastwo (Landscape Studies); Turystyka - turystyka historyczna (Historical Tourism) i turystyka kulturowa (Cultural Tourism), for each of this course one archaeological subject is predicted. This subject is taught under the name dependent on the discipline, it is called: Prehistoric Europe/Prehisotry of Polish Lands/Prehistoric Cultures. This subject should be treated as mandatory according to some ministerial standards, but very small number of hours is dedicated to it, usually is 30 hours of lectures in one semester. In my article I try to look at the current Polish situation and gather some observations concerning syllabuses and textbooks. On the bases of my observations I try to identify some bullet points which can be used as the guided items for the discussion concerning the goals , effects, learning outcomes of this type of university lectures L1 - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/Content/50558/PDF/WA308_68859_PIII353_W-poszukiwaniu-stand_I.pdf M3 - Text J2 - In search for standards for teaching prehistory and archaeology in the humanities in Poland J2 - Przegląd Archeologiczny T. 60 (2012) PY - 2012 EP - 140 KW - Archaeology KW - related courses KW - humanities KW - teaching methodology KW - methods of popularizing A1 - Ciesielska, Adriana PB - Instytut Archeologii i Etnologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk PB - Ośrodek Badań nad Kulturą Późnego Antyku i Wczesnego Średniowiecza VL - 60 CY - Wrocław SP - 133 T1 - W poszukiwaniu standardów nauczania prahistorii i archeologii pradziejowej na kierunkach humanistycznych w Polsce UR - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/dlibra/publication/edition/50558 ER - TY - GEN N1 - 25 cm N2 - This paper reflects on the study of archaeology in central Europe, where recently this discipline, in countries such as the Czech Republic, has spread extensively within the university environment. This process shows the need to consider not only why this is happening, but also how this process should be directed and how far the archaeology curricula in individual university departments should diversify from their traditional focus. It has been suggested that contemporary archaeology has a unique opportunity to attract young people interested both in humanities and, ever more frequently, also in natural science due to the strong links between these disciplines L1 - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/Content/54717/PDF/WA308_74847_P244_Some-observations-on_I.pdf M3 - Text J2 - Sprawozdania Archeologiczne 64 (2012) PY - 2012 EP - 16 KW - archeology KW - university studies KW - teaching strategy KW - interpretive openness KW - archaeological sources A1 - Gojda, Martin PB - Instytut Archeologii i Etnologii Polskiej Akademii Nauk VL - 64 CY - Kraków SP - 9 T1 - Some observations on contemporary teaching of archaeology in universities UR - http://www.rcin.org.pl/iae/dlibra/publication/edition/54717 ER - TY - GEN N1 - Magdalena Tempelmann-Mączyńska, Die Perlen der römischen Kaiserzeit und der frühen Phase der Völekrwanderungszeit im mitteleuropäischen Barbaricum, [w:] Römisch- Germanische Forschungen, t. 43, Moguncja 1985, ss. 339, 7 tabel i 24 ryciny w tekście oraz 20 tablic (w tym 14 barwnych), 60 map, 3 tablice poza tekstem N1 - P. 223-229 ; 25 cm N1 - Bibliographical footnotes M3 - Text J2 - Archeologia Polski Vol. 32 (1987) No 1 J2 - Archeologia Polski Vol. 32 (1987) No 1, Recenzje PY - 1987 IS - 1 EP - 229 KW - Roman-Migration period -- central Europe KW - Roman-Migration period -- Barbaricum KW - Roman-Migration period beads KW - Roman-Migration period beads -- typology KW - Roman-Migration period beads -- distribution KW - Roman-Migration period beads -- production techniques KW - chronology of Roman-Migration period beads KW - bead finds -- central Europe KW - catalog of archaeological sites -- central Europe A1 - Stawiarska, Teresa (1939– ). The army of 50,000 included a detachment of courtiers (curienses) who were organised as the so-called court banner. It was a kind of royal guard of up to 2000 men. The army, led by the Polish king John I Albert, set off at the beginning of June from Lviv, and on 24 September the troops began a siege of Suceava, the capital of Moldavia. A well-fortified city was not captured and on 19 October the siege ended. During the retreat, on 26 October the Polish troops were attacked by the Moldavians and their allies in the Cosmin Forest in Bucovina (present-day Ukraine). In the clash, the court banner played an important role, by saving the knights of the general levy from a complete defeat. In the Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw there are registers of armaments lost in this battle by the curienses. The paper discusses the armaments of members of the court detachment and losses they suffered during the battle. The sites comprised two artifact concentrations buried in trenches XVI and XVIIc. A number of quantitative and qualitative attributes characterize the two assemblages, namely: the dominance of scrapers over endscrapers, the occurrence of bipolar technique of flaking, the microlithic character of tools and the governance of trapezoidal pieces among the insets. These are the traits that have suggested a new discrete stylistic entity, which, subsequently, has been termed the Kokry industry. One hundred thirty and six flint artifacts from trench XVIIc show use-wear traces indicating heavy use. Hide processing wear has been the most frequent. In addition, the tools were involved in wood and bone processing, whereas the microliths were used as insets being elements of armament.
