The urban spaces provide the opportunity for diverse and wide-ranging activities that are organised by the town authorities for its citizens. The way they are used, as well as their form and function, depend on several factors that include the microclimatic and geographical conditions. Within this context, the paper deals with the transformation of urban spaces, namely the main square, and the activities that the city offers its citizens during wintertime. The starting point for the paper is the concept of Smart City and other urban space concepts: their functions, the revitalisation and the humanisation.
