 abstract={The author deals with the problem of the identity of anthropology as a scientific discipline. She notices that once again there is a need of reflection upon the identity of our discipline and of answering the question what distinguishes it from other humanities dealing with culture. She decides to discuss the problem through the thought of postmodern anthropology. The author considers the question of knowledge as the issue which best conveys the complexity of the problem and on this example shows relations between anthropology and other branches of humanities},
