Moreover, such ornamentation is considered as decorative addition to the pot and because of that is being examined as separate fact of culture. Aesthetic and Indo-European studies allows to questionthat opinion. Decoration on neolithic pottery could have connection with the magic practice of plaiting knots. In the Indo-European tradition ritual use of cord and plaitwork was connected with the presence of the power which safeguarded constancy and continuity of existence, from the point of view the man who thinks in magic way, decoration of pottery was not asymbolic action. Ornamentation could not have been a sign of artistic acting. Ornamentation was the medium for real presence magic properties, which were attributed to the knots.
