 abstract={The article analyses the process of revitalising selected areas of the urban space in Krzeszowice. This project, undertaken by the town authorities, aims to change the existing order and create a new one, using carefully selected motifs from the town’s past. This project leads to a conflict between the authorities and the local community, presenting mutually exclusive viewpoints. The opinion of the majority is not always taken into account. The whole process is accompanied by a reinterpretation of social memory. The present article is an attempt to show the connection between aspects of revitalisation and the issue of memory, with Krzeszowice as an example},
